video albums are ever popular among Goans especially in the Gulf. Thanks to
innovative Goan artistes, there are plenty of CDs released every year.
A new Konkani DVD ‘TUMKANCH
LAGON’ was released on 24th Sept 2015 in Kuwait at the Konkani musical show "Mango
Bonanza" held at American International School, Hawally.
It is a maiden video CD produced by Kuwait-based
Goan singer Agnelo Fernandes consisting of 11 incredible songs shot in a unique
style apart from hilarious comedy skits performed by some of Goa’s upcoming
comedians.
Famous Goan stars
featuring in the DVD are Sonia Shirsat, Seby de Divar, Sylvester Vaz, Jeremiah
Vaz, Nephie Rod, Rosario de Benaulim, Comedian Selvy, Kuwait Trio (Cajetan de
Sanvordem, Micheal D'Silva, Mario de Majorda), Olinda Dias and Agnelo Fernandes.
The comedy skits are performed by Comedian Benny Pereira, Comedian Marcus and
Comedian Reggy.
Music for the DVD is arranged by Goa’s legendary musician Norman Cardozo and Kuwait’s popular Music Maestro Shahu Almeida.

Agnelo Fernandes hails from Gonvoll, Shiroda – Goa.
A member of Kuwait Goan Tiatristanchi Sounstha (KGTS), Agnelo
has featured on stage as a guest singer in various dramas such as Roseferns
‘Maim Tuzo Upkari’, Milagres de Chandor’s ‘Fulam’, Comedian Augustine’s
“Police”… etc. He has sang in Tiatros of Salvador Afonso, Comedian Salu
Faleiro, etc, apart from other performances in musical shows organized by Shahu
Almeida, United Friends Club (UFC), Goan Welfare Society (GWS), Navelim Youth
Centre. Agnelo also has a number of memorable, customized wedding toasts to his
credit.
A versatile singer with a deep baritone, Agnelo is an
alumni of Guardian Angel High School, Sanvordem and Fr. Agnel Institute,
Bandra-Bombay.
Agnelo first came to Kuwait in 1995 and is currently working for
the Ministry of Interior. Happily married to Judith Fernandes, Agnelo has two sons
Aldrich & Ethan. Agnelo has dedicated the production of ‘Tumkanch Lagon’ to
his parents and their exceptional love.
Agnelo has high regards for Michael D’Silva and considers him as
his mentor and guide. The title song of this album is specially composed by
Michael.
“There are some meaningful songs and a
message in every song for all Goans. I hope the efforts put into my works reach
everyone across the Konkan world..,” said an excited Agnelo on the eve of the
release.
