Goan culture and Konkani language is ever alive across the oceans thanks to Goans settled abroad in various parts of the globe staging their love - for Goa’s art and mother tongue.
The latest to shine are Goans in faraway Cayman Islands – a distant land across the Atlantic.
Led by Seby Coelho, a group of Goans have made their presence felt with a captivating entry in the recently premiered GLOBAL GOENCHO AVAZ YouTube singing competition organized by

Aptly composed and titled ‘PORDEXI GOENKAR’, the interesting video consists of a number of singers based on the island that include Domnic Nogueiro, Rafael Noel, Andrew Jude Fernándes, Paulo Cardozo, Marvel Fernandes, Seby Coelho, Edwin Fernandes, Joyce Fernandes, McAllister Christiano Fernandes, Seby Pereira, etc.

Son of Edwin and Joyce, aged just 15 years old, McAllister is presently studying at St. Ignatius Catholic School, Cayman Islands.
A talented kid, he is a member of the school band. Interestingly, McAllister won first place in the Inter-school All-Goa Art and Culture competition in 2015.
Music is McAllister’s passion, he started playing the piano at the age of 6. Right now he plays the steel drums, Saxophone, Piano, Guitar, Clarinet, and Ukulele.
The young kid has acted in Rafael de Macasana’s tiatr ‘Anik Nam’ that featured 3 of the most well-known tiatrist - John D’ Silva, Francis De Tuem and Prince Jacob that travelled to Cayman in 2018.
McAllister’s hobbies include music, acting, composing songs, fishing, snorkeling and diving.
