Goans may be away from Goa, but their love for Goa cannot be taken away from them. Balthazar Pontes, a popular singer based in Kuwait, is one such Goan whose love for Goa and Konkani is supreme, just like any other true Goan.

The singer who has 3 audio albums to his credit has come out with another interesting song. A song on a subject that can be linked to every Goan. Proud of Baltazar for a great composition – top class.

Beautifully sung by all the 3 singers – Joseph Rodrigues – Gracy Rodrigues – Baltazar Pontes – especially Joseph Rodrigues whose thick baritone voice and screen presence is fabulous.

And once again Musician Senon de Souza proves why he is considered one of the best-rated upcoming musicians in the Goan industry. The trumpeter has beautified the song by his marvelous intro, interludes, and melodious fillers.

The Editing too is done like ‘scenes from a real Goan panchayat’ with some popular faces from Kuwait seen in the backdrop.

The young Cinema-Editing duo of Rythm & Poetry - Jeff Almeida & Dwane Almeida are growing expert professionals in the field; we need young Goans such as these to take our art to new heights. Well done kids!!!

Panchayats are the backbone of the Indian villages since the beginning of recorded history.

Our Father of the Nation Gandhiji's dream of every village to be an independent republic or Panchayats having powers was translated into reality with the introduction of a three-tier Panchayati Raj system to involve people’s participation in the reconstruction at village level.

Are our Panchayat offices working towards the benefit of our community or have they become a hub of corruption?

𝙒𝘼𝙏𝘾𝙃 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝙊𝙉𝙂 – wonderfully exhibited by the Kuwait singers and indeed very well composed by Baltazar – a singer & composer of the highest calibre.

The producer Baltazar has thanked Kamal Hosain & Sarita Fernandes, and extended special thanks to all singers, cast, and team members for their valued help.

ABOUT BALTAZAR PONTES

Hailing from Aldona, Balthazar started singing at the age of 12 in St Thomas High School concerts, and other village shows. “Fr Lawrence Rodrigues at that time used to stage ‘Dotornicho Dis’ every year when he was our Parish priest at Aldona,” remembers Balthazar, “He is the one who encouraged me much.”

“However, Alfred Rose, my Aldoncar is my biggest inspiration,” adds the humble singer. When Balthazar was in the 9th standard, he staged his first Tiatr called ‘Kortubanchem Foll’.

Later, he started writing lyrics as fate took him to Mumbai in 1986 soon after he finished school.

The young, talented Balthazar continued to perform in Tiatrs, and also wrote lyrics inbetween for 2 audio albums which were produced under the banner of ‘Konkani CA's Ventures’. One of the album was titled ‘Russia Converter Zatelem’ in 1992 while the other was ‘Don Bosco’ released in 1994.

In Feb 2020, he had released his audio CD titled ‘Nizache Goykar’ (Ideal Goans).

Balthazar also directed a tiatr called ‘Ason Duddu Sonvsar Koddu’ written by Minoo Ferns in Mumbai around 1994.

Life in Kuwait

Balthazar first moved to Kuwait in 1995, and soon got an opportunity to sing in Rafael de Majorda Tiatrs ‘Hanv Noko Zalom’, and ‘Tukai Tench Ravta’ in 2003.

However, there was long break before Balthazar was back on stage in Kuwait Konknni Mogi (KKM) Musical Show in April 2015 singing a solo, and a trio along with Felix Dias and Marlette Fernandes.

Since then, Balthazar is a regular face in almost every drama staged in Kuwait and sings to great applause of the audience.

The singer works for Sahara Golf Club, Kuwait. Happily married to married to Maria Dias, Balthazar has 2 sons RYLAN Pontes, a Computer Network Engineer, and Aaron Pontes, a Mechanical Engineer.
