THE NAME IS GHOSH -- PALOMI GHOSH.
She is the star that won ‘Special Mention Merit’ at the Indian National Film Awards for her amazing role in the runaway Konkani blockbuster - ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ which is set for screening in Kuwait at the American Int’l School, Maidan Hawally on 29th and 30th May 2015.
Undoubtedly the best film ever made in Konkani, the film won awards for Best Feature Film in Konkani, and Best Production Design. The film has met with resounding success all across the Konkan world and is now set to storm Kuwait.
WHO IS PALOMI GHOSH?
Palomi is a bubbling actress of Bengali origin. The young girl found her calling to stardom at the ‘theatre electives’ of North Carolina University (USA) where she studied. It further boosted her interest in acting and singing. She was duly rewarded for her enactment and dedicated depiction of a Goan in ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ which she performed to great perfection despite her non-Goan inheritance.
Palomi has also rendered 2 songs in the film—'Tuzo mog' and 'Adeus' and continues to regale audiences at various shows and festivals singing in Konkani. Apart from her much cherished presence in the film, Palomi features in the following films which are under post productions:
‘Gandhi of the Month’ - an English feature film starring Harvey Keitel, directed by Kranti Kanade.
‘The Waiting City’ – an Australian film directed by Claire McCarthy starring Radha Mitchell and Joel Edgerton

ABOUT THE FILM – ‘NACHOM-IA KUMPASAR’ (LETS DANCE TO THE RHYTHM)
Since its launch, the Bardroy Barretto directed masterpiece has earned large amount of support and praise for the film across India and abroad.
The cast of the movie includes Goan actors and actresses namely Comedian Netto, Prince Jacob, John D'Silva, Samy Braganza, Comedian Kenny, Selwyn Braganza, Roy Menezes, Abdonio, Meena Leitao, Mathew Araujo, Meenakshi Martins, Roque Lazarus, etc, among many others.
President of Goan Cultural Centre – Kuwait Mr. Carmo Santos, one of the co-producers and main persons in bringing the film to Kuwait can also be seen in a starring role.
The film is being showcased at a series of special screenings in Goa and is running to packed houses ever since its premier at Doha Qatar in November 2014. It is expected to draw record crowds in Kuwait where Goans and Mangaloreans are known to throng theatres for Konkani shows of excellence.
