Kuwait: Popular Goan-based trio singers Mario de Majorda, Cajetan de Sanvordem and Michael D’Silva are set to capture hearts of Bahrain Goans with their latest hits in 'Bahrainche Goykar', a musical show to be held on 5th November 2015 at the Baan Saeng Thai Restaurant Auditorium, Bahrain.
The unique style musical is organized under the patronage of Young Goans Club and is directed by Jr. Luis Anthony and Claude Farrier.
Kuwait’s well-known Maestro Shahu will provide music for the show while Tibush Rebello of T-Bush International Films based in Kuwait will be a surprise attendee for the show as guest of honor.
A number of Goan singers have risen to fame from Kuwait. The Trio singers remain one of the most popular, well known for their composition and unique blend of voices. After the legendary late Rosary Ferns, Jose Rod, Mendes Brothers, Adolf (Buierantlo Munis fame), Marcus and Xavier, the Trio perhaps fall in the topmost pedestal. In recent years, the Kuwait Trio has performed in London, Qatar, Goa, etc, singing on various topics. They have given hit-after-hit, and are known to be professional-perfect in their art.
Also making the trip from Kuwait for ‘Bahrainche Goenkar’ is rookie singer Domnic Fernandes. A Konkani activist and a playwright-director in his own right, Domnic has been in the limelight for quite some time in Kuwait. This is the first time that he has been invited to perform overseas which is a great honor for anyone. No doubt, Domnic is highly excited about it.
Bahrain Tiatro director Jr. Luis and his actress wife Lourdin, who are well-known for their role in Bahrain Tiatro activities, should be highly commended for recognizing the talent of Domnic Fernandes and selecting him to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain despite Domnic’s domestic status in Kuwait.
Better known to ‘reading’ Goans across the Konkani world for his articles on ‘Gulab’, ‘Jivit’ magazines and his debates on various topics on facebook, Domnic is sure to ‘kill two birds in one stone (eka farak don bokim) during the visit by highlighting the importance of Romi Konkani.
‘BAHRAINCHE GOENKAR’ also includes Goa’s firebrand singer Francis de Tuem, Kenny and the famous Dubai Trio.
Bahrain based actors/singers supporting the famed artistes are Reginald De Curtorim, Francis Sequeira, Menino Fernandes, Avon Travon, Hilary Telis, Sujay Pinto, Stanley, Ronny, Melba, Samantha, Anamika, Lourdin, Austina, etc.
DOMNIC FERNANDES has an inbuilt passion for dramas, acting and singing.
