We all grow up watching dreams change, but some just refuse to fade.
My friends Agnello Fernandes & Neeta Fernandes' daughter, Alisha Fernandes always had one clear goal - - to become a Doctor.
𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙀 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢.
War in Crimea in her first year MBBS, interrupted studies, losing her seat midway through Manipal University in India… …each setback could’ve ended it.
𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗦𝗛𝗘 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗞𝗘𝗣𝗧 𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚.
She restarted, retrained, earned a Master’s in Healthcare at Napier University, Scotland, and finally made it to New Vision University in Georgia to complete her Doctor of Medicine - specializing in Neurology.
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚 - - 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙃𝙀𝙍 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩.
And through it all, you can only imagine how proud her parents must be, watching every struggle turn into strength in her life.
Proud of her journey, and even more proud of the person she’s become - from the little shy bridesmaid at our wedding and now.
