‘Adlo Temp’, a simple song with witty, comical lyrics on funky beats, and picturized on cartoon characters has gone ballistic on Facebook after it was uploaded by GOA UK #goauk.
The song has collectively done over 85,000 views in just a couple of days on YouTube & FB so far and more than 1,000 shares, apart from being circulated on WhatsApp.
Despite caution by celebrated singer Saby De Divar Dias recently not to download Konkani songs, we still find some smart asses around. Well, it doesn’t matter to me as I spent nothing at all on the video, but it may hurt most of our artistes who put so much efforts and money.
Also, the circulated video has been trimmed which made it to lose a rare intro never before heard in Konkani songs.

What was meant to be a weekend compos/edit & recording for time-pass & fun turned out to be quite worthy & memorable.
Our Kuwait legend-footballer friend Julio Cardoso in Galgibaga, Goa was one of the first to compliment on the song, “Gasper, you will be the envy of quite a number of our seasoned Konkani singers. Glad you have raised your own bar and setting a mark for other renowned singers to emulate.”
Goan star and busiest internet sensation Sanio Fernandes messaged, “Loved the song, you are always unique bro; the song is gone immensely viral and I myself received it from atleast 10 of my friends on WhatsApp.”
While my wife Esparansa Barretto never listens beyond the first line of my lyrics, she called to say, “Hey, there’s a similar song on WhatsApp, like yours.”
I told her it’s okay, she could carry on listening to her devotional songs.
Someone named Julia Temudo stated in one of the comments, “Wow, lovely song, thank you. Is it Lawry Travasso. Love the meaning of this song for today's Generation.”
I wonder which side of the croaky singer of ‘Adlo Temp’ made Julia think it was the melodious Lawry Travasso.😊
Lawrence Viegas, a collegemate based in Sharjah, who keeps spamming our college group with YouTube links, had posted the circulated video in the group too, but said he recognized the voice only after others in the group started pouring praises.
Salgaocar Legend and friend Jules Alberto based in UK was the only person who took permission to share the link on facebook. Now I can’t say he is a dimwit, he is one of the smartest footballers to have played for India; probably it is the British culture that has got into him as he has recently acquired citizenship.😊
Our Goans however think songs like this originate out of thin air, and anyone who comes across them first can claim ©copyrights.😂
While Kuwait’s Maestro Shahu Almeida referred the song as ‘Talk of the town,” world-famed Goan Konkani music promoter Chris-Armand Presentation rated the song on Facebook in his own star-style.
Edna Fernandes from Canada shared the song on facebook with a catchy caption, ‘Big Hit of 2022’

Konkani songs usually depend on the popularity of artistes. While love songs are popular with the younger genre, political singers grilling ministers seem to have become trendy with Goan viewers.
In that regard, my highest respect goes to Goan superstar Rosario De Benaulim for never indulging in singing political songs, but bringing new, innovative tunes and amazing subjects to our Konkani audience – thereby setting a benchmark for budding singers.
Many others like me are one-hit wonders, and they hardly get noticed. However, when a song suddenly picks up speed and goes viral and becomes popular, it means there is certainly something unique!
