Who else on earth always wants us to smile? It’s none other than a photographer. Whether he is an artist or not, the photographer is just a joyous sensualist -- for the simple reason that his eye traffics in feelings, not just in thoughts.
If you do not want beautiful moments of your life to fade away, he is there to frame them up for you.
A renowned photographer in the international media who holds over 30 certificates and many awards for his remarkable and picturesque photography at global level – Goa’s JOSE LUIS RIVON GOMES.
Rivon Gomes has been residing in Kuwait for the past 44 years and works at CANON - Nasser Mohamed Al Sayer Communication Company, Kuwait.
YOUNGER DAYS & THE LOVE OF LENS
Rivon was born in a well-disciplined family and hails from Raia village in Goa. His father was an auditor-section officer in the Indian Navy, and so he could inherit the discipline from his father.
Apart from being passionate with photography, Rivon was also an accomplished footballer and an athlete. In the year 1976 he won first place in 110 Metres hurdles at all India Mining Meet held in Goa when he worked for Sesa Goa Pvt. Limited.
He also played football in the Western India Football League in Bombay.
Rivon did his Technical Engineering from Cardian Technical Institute – Mumbai, and later did an advanced course in Production Engineering.
As soon as he graduated in 1979, he joined a photo-studio Company in Dubai, U.A.E. He landed in Kuwait in 1980 and joined Al Alamiah (Fotofast) as a Lab Technician.
While working there, he learnt the art of advance photo-finishing from an American Institute.

JOB PROFILE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Rivon had joined CANON in 2001. His job responsibilities includes installation of systems, training the staff, setting up new studios, and also working on professional studios, commercial, structural/architectural and celebrity shoots.
He has also attended training in Germany.
After an experience of over 4 decades, Rivon’s responsibilities now include and are expanded to handling sales, managing showrooms & professional studios. He also serves as a lab manager handling production and quality control at Al Alamiah Company.
Sometime back, Rivon started his own Freelance business on the commercial photography front.
Having over 40 years of experience in photography, he is very creative, idealistic and believes in quality. Being a workaholic, Rivon loves to do whatever he does – especially with the lens in his hands.
RIVON GOMES - LIFE AHEAD
Rivon’s humble nature and presence at almost all social gatherings – football ground, weddings, parties, events and functions -- has brought him immense fame in Kuwait. We can say that his zeal and passion towards photography made all his dreams come true.
Rivon is never known to have enemies. He has been instrumental in making many lives famous (including me) by presenting super-snaps to the world through his lens – on his facebook page or the goaworld website, he is never known for keeping photos he shoots archived under his pillow.
Rivon enjoys dealing with all professional line up of cameras in different models and also provides his valuable advice and suggestions to people and youngsters who come to him.
The soft-spoken personality now aims at setting up studios in India, and give to our homeland a part of his knowledge and gratitude.
The man has toiled day in and day out to achieve his goals and fulfill his dreams.
MAGIC BEHIND RIVON’S SUCCESS
Isn’t it also true that behind every successful man there is a woman.
The credit of Rivon Gomes’ success can be accredited to his wife Fatima Glensia Gomes who worked as an executive secretary for Al Zayani. She has been a great support to her husband.
The couple have been blessed with two children.
As the saying goes, “As you sow, so you reap”, Rivon Gomes’s children too are very talented like him. The elder son Staski Jude Gomes has been popular for his music and was good at sports too. Scot Savio Gomes is their younger son who also plays music.
Rivon lives a satisfying personal and professional life – what more does a man require?
The great personality celebrates his birthday today – 8th April.
