𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿. 𝗡𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁.
The melodious singer, who is part of every show staged in Kuwait, is set to feature in yet another big show – Comedian Agostinho Temudo’s blockbuster drama ‘PAST IS PAST’ to be staged in on 26th July ’24 at the ICSK School hall, Salmiya.
For her rapid growth on Konkani stage, Kuwait-based group 'Sandleleo Xeleo Entertainers' recently conferred Valanka with the title of ‘TWINKLE STAR’ during the staging of Comedian Soccor’s drama ‘Right vo Wrong.’
𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙑𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙆𝘼
The only child of Betty & Victor Fernandes hailing from Afament, Shiroda, Valanka is someone who dons many hats.
Since her days as a kindergarten student at Bhavans Jack and Jill, Valanka has been active in many competitions like fancy dress, poem recitations, talk shows, dancing, etc.
She has always been a topper at every activity that she participated. And within a short time, Valanka learnt Indian classical dance and until now continues to learn and sharpen her skills.
A student at Delhi Public School (DPS), Valanka is a regular in all activities such as sports, dance, singing, etc. The little girl also has a penchant for art and drawing which she acquired under a professional tutor.
Valanka also has a blue belt in karate.
In music, initially Valanka learnt the keyboard till 2019. Then, she changed her mind to learn drums. She has performed on keyboard at various musical shows organized for public.
The multi-talented girl is an active member of Angel’s Choir at Ahmadi parish. She is also a member of the Kids for Christ community, Ahmadi parish unit.
𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙈𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙀𝙎
Valanka got her first opportunity to perform in a Mangalorean show called ‘Konkani Divas’ for a song directed by Domnic Fernandes. It was a day-long program that had competitions, comedy, dance, singing, etc, with nearly 1,000 people watching.
Again, it was Shri Domnic who cast Valanka in Kuwait Konknni Mogi’s ‘Unique Musical Show’ in November 2019. Valanka sang a solo in the show, and featured in a kid’s trio.
Valanka featured yet again in KKM’s Live Facebook Musical Show in January 2021.
Since then, the little star has featured in every show staged in Kuwait that included online & annual musical shows by Maestro Shahu Almeida, online & stage shows by KKM in Kuwait & Goa, online shows by Navelim Stars (2021) and KGTS in 2022, and 2 dramas by Comedian Soccor (from London) – in 2023 & 2024.
In November 2023, Valanka traveled to Bahrain to take part in Jr. Luis’ Musical Concert Bahrainchim Motiam ani Bhangar.
Valanka has also performed at various events conducted by the Goan community in Kuwait & Goa. One of her amazing dance on Gasper Crasto's ‘Froggy Song - Adlo Temp’ was performed at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, and many other functions in Goa.
𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙐𝘽𝙀 𝙑𝙄𝘿𝙀𝙊𝙎
Valanka also has her own YouTube Channel and posts regular Konkani songs, her latest have been ‘Kuwaitchea Goykaranchi Khobor’ and ‘Dusreak Copy Korchem Nhoi’ – both well appreciated by Konkani audience across the globe.
