The Goan community in Kuwait and across the world mourns the passing of a towering Goan personality – RAYMOND D’SA who passed away on his 85th birthday.
Raymond was a long timer in Kuwait having spent nearly 60 years of his life and leaving the country for good to be in Amchem Goa since 2017.
Raymond’s life was deeply interwoven with the heartbeat of his people – especially to GOA Maroons club in Kuwait, the club that he founded and led as its President till he left Kuwait.

Raymond built his legacy far away from home, he carried Goa in his heart even while living and working in Kuwait. It is here that he tirelessly championed the causes closest to every Goan soul—football that stirred passion, dance nites that brought joy, and traditions that kept our roots alive.
Raymond’s efforts were never for applause, but to ensure that Goans remained united, proud, and connected to their culture.
To Goans in Kuwait, he was not just a leader, or a cultural pioneer—he was family. His presence lit up every gathering, and his legacy will live on in every Goan who knew him.
Today, Kuwait Goans bow their heads in respect, even as we lift our voices in gratitude for a life that gave so much to so many.

It is important to remember the journey of this simple yet remarkable Goan, who left an indelible mark on both Kuwait and Goa.
Arriving in Kuwait in 1958, he began humbly as an accountant before realizing his childhood dream of working in a bank.
Through perseverance and integrity, he rose to become Assistant General Manager at the famous National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), serving with dedication until his retirement in 2017.
Alongside his professional life, he remained deeply committed to his family and the community. Raymond showed his leadership in organizing major tournaments and cultural programs, and he proudly led the GOA Maroons football team on tours across the Gulf
Raymond is survived by his children Ivy, Reynold, and Melanie, all settled in USA. Even in personal trials, especially the loss of his beloved wife Mary, he stood as a man of compassion, and quiet strength.
After leaving Kuwait in 2017, we know he spent his time shuttling to the States to visit his children and doing community service in his village of Nagoa.
Truly, his life was a testament to service, family, and the spirit of Goa.
