Over the last few decades, Goan Tiatr has not only survived but thrived across continents.

What was once a uniquely Goan stage art—rooted in music, comedy, social commentary, and heartfelt storytelling—has today found eager audiences far beyond Goa’s shores.

Among Goans settled in the UK, Tiatr has seen a remarkable surge in demand, especially in the last 10 years.

From packed community halls in Swindon to grand shows in other parts of London – especially Wembley, Feltham, Hounslow and Southall, every staging is a cultural reunion—a chance for Goans abroad to laugh, sing, and unite.

This progress is no accident. It is the result of passionate writers, directors, actors, and musicians who carry forward the torch of Tiatr.

The appetite in UK has grown so strong that tickets for popular shows often sell out weeks in advance—a true testimony to the living spirit of Tiatr.

Against this vibrant backdrop, London is now set to witness a fresh landmark in Goan tiatrs.

On 6th September 2025, a brand-new drama titled 𝘿𝙐𝙎𝙍𝙀𝙈 𝙅𝙄𝙑𝙄𝙏 (𝙎𝙀𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘿 𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙀) will be staged at Wembley.

This isn’t just another production—it’s a heartfelt venture by Pravin Fernandes, a name more familiar on the football field.

Pravin’s journey is the stuff of inspiration.

Hailing from Navelim, Goa, he once thrilled football fans as a ‘sprint-striker’ playing for his ward Fradilem, then Navelim Sporting, and major Goan clubs Salcete FC, Dempo, and MRF.

In the late 90s, he moved to London, where he built his life from scratch—working tirelessly to provide for his family and eventually running a modest Food & Wine store in the heart of Wembley.

But the fire of creativity never left him. His passion for Goan music and culture found expression in the past through a CD of songs.

Now, that spark has turned into a blazing debut as a Tiatr writer and director.

With Dusrem Jivit, Pravin steps confidently into the world of tiatr, carrying with him both the discipline of a sportsman and the vision of an artist.

The drama promises to be a full Tiatr experience—complete with songs, ‘cantos’, powerful dialogues, and rib-tickling comedy.

Written entirely by Pravin himself, it showcases not just his writing wisdom but also his ability to balance social life with entertainment.

The cast brings together budding Goan stars from London along with the seasoned brilliance of veteran artiste and social influencer, Teotonio Fernandes.

Stars that will explode the stage comprise of: Jesba, veteran superstar Felcy, David, budding star Aliston, Joicelan, Mindroy, Daneera, Rumaldo, Comedian Luis, Comedian Dorety, Comedian Costy, Lanisha-Delisha, Sandra, Comedian Jack de Colva, Franky Fernandes, etc.

Music will be handled by Frampton D’Sa, Delcy (Trumpet), Pascoal, Aaron, Olavo (Saxophone), Lincoln, etc.

Their mix of youthful energy and experienced artistry is set to light up the stage, ensuring audiences will laugh, sing, and perhaps even shed a tear or two.

For Navelkars and Goans worldwide—especially football enthusiasts who cheered for Pravin in his sporting days—this moment is one of immense pride.

To see one of their own, write a second life in art and culture is proof of the passion that defines the Goan spirit.

As Pravin takes his first bow as a director, the family of friends stands behind him, wishing him success and applauding his courage to dream beyond the ordinary.

On 6th September 2025 at Wembley, when the lights dim and the music swells, audiences will witness not just a drama but a story of determination—of a footballer turned family man, turned supermarket owner, turned playwright and director.

DUSREM JIVIT (SECOND LIFE) is more than a title. It is Pravin Fernandes’s journey itself—a celebration of reinvention, and the enduring magic of Goan Tiatr.
