KUWAIT: She is known as Goa’s Nightingale. Her songs have become immortal over the years, and she has been an inspiration to many.

Lorna, the Konkani language singer, needs no introduction. She remains the most popular Konkani female singer.

However, the credit to give Lorna a fresh frontage, 'life' to her songs and take Lorna to the highest pedestal goes to yet another female - PALOMI GHOSH, an inspiration herself to the young and old alike, and a prime personality in attracting the audience back to  Konkani cinema.

WHO IS PALOMI?

Palomi  won ‘Special Mention Merit’ at the Indian National Film Awards for her amazing role in ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ which is set for screening in Kuwait yet again by public demand.

Undoubtedly, one of the best films ever made in Konkani, which won awards for Best Feature Film in Konkani, and Best Production Design, the film has met resounding success all across the Konkan world.

Palomi, who plays the lead, is a bubbling actress of Bengali origin. The young girl found her calling to stardom at the ‘theatre electives’ of North Carolina University (USA) where she studied.

Her natural talent further boosted her interest in acting and singing. She was duly rewarded for her dedicated depiction of a singer in ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ which she performed to great perfection despite her non-Goan inheritance.

Palomi has also rendered 2 songs in the film—'Tuzo mog' and 'Adeus' and continues to regale audience at various Konkani events and festivals singing in Konkani.

The beautiful actress can also be seen in numerous TV Commercials, popular among them being Idea, SBI Life Insurance, Horlicks Oats, Stayfree, Hajmola, Orbit, Reliance GSM, Moov, Bru, Uninor, etc, as well as other promos for Sony & NDTV Imagine.

In drama and art, the stunning Palomi has created a niche among upcoming stars. She has acted in epic stage shows and episodes. Palomi also has Music Videos.

Films, theatre and commercials apart, the multi-talented star is also an appointed trainer in social dances and is a lead vocalist too.

Currently, the heroine is in Germany doing a shoot.

NAMCHOM-IA KUMPASAR is probably one of the most memorable acts, if not for Palomi, atleast for the Konkani loving masses.

‘NACHOM-IA KUMPASAR’ (LETS DANCE TO THE RHYTHM)

Nachom-ia Kumpasar is still being showcased at a series of screenings in Goa and is running to packed houses ever since its premier at Doha Qatar in November 2014.
