Now, Goa is coming up with many talented youngsters in
music. The youth are breaking the ceiling to showcase their flair. But passion,
hard work, and zeal is the only way forward.
We have a passionate little star based in Kuwait
– Aerosmith Almeida, who has taken up the musical sticks from his dad – to
drum his way into the future.
The drummer-boy, just 15 years of age makes his debut on a big stage in the Konkani Online Musical set to 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗘𝗥𝗘 today 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 at 5:00PM Kuwait Time.
The show entitled ‘𝗚𝗢𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗛𝗘
𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘
𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗦’
will see some familiar Goan artistes based in Kuwait. The musical consists of a
variety of songs and comedy.
Music surely runs in the blood Aerosmith. He is the son of famous Goan Maestro Shahu Almeida, a renowned keyboardist based in Kuwait and
initially, a drummer himself who played in countless weddings and beat shows.
Aerosmith had many musical instruments, including drums,
to pick-up from the house as his dad Shahu plays all the instruments. The drum
set too is already set up in the house.
Right from a young age, Aerosmith was fascinated by the
drums – as most kids are. But he showed great passion to learn from his dad,
and so far, plays the drums decently.
Aerosmith also has a great passion for sport and loves
playing football.
YOUNG MEMORIES
Since his kindergarten days till the 8th grade,
Aerosmith had been very active in dancing and took part in many school
functions every year.
He has the natural flair of dancing, picked up from his
grandfather – famous tiatr star late Cajetan de Sanvordem.
As a child, Aerosmith has performed a dance in Konkani Musical Evening (Songit Sanz) presented by KKM in Kuwait on 8th September 2013.
Thereafter, he also performed a dance in ‘Goencho Rakonddar’, a Konkani musical show presented by Shahu Almeida and organized by Kaifan Boyz on 1st December 2013.
He also did some stage acts with Comedian Simla &
Mangalorean star Lucy Aranha in a Goa Day show, and another act with
stage-great Mario Fernandes in Laurente Pereira’s tiatr.
However, Aerosmith says, it was his dad Shahu Almeida who
inspired him to play drums and go into music.
𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
Named after the famous American rock
band Aerosmith consisting of legendary singer Steven Tyler in the lead
vocals, our own little star has picked up fast, gaining encouragement from all
circles along the way.
His biggest source of encouragement has been ofcourse his
dad, who cast him in his musical shows to play the opening intros alongwith him
in all his shows namely:
Tiatristponn Devachem Dennem – in 2016
Tumkanch Lagon Ami - 2017
Konknni Machiechi Seva - 2018
Ugddas Dovrun Ghele – 2019
London-based famous drummer Matias Sequiera, who visited Kuwait to play in many shows, has also encouraged Aerosmith over the years – through video clips and tips to improve the drum rolls and rhythmic techniques on the snare drum, bass drum, toms, cymbals, pedals, and his posture on the throne (seat).
Aerosmith’s mom Clemmie and sister Acacia have been great
support in the house as well, they just enjoy watching his practice and play.
Just in his 10th Grade and studying at Kuwait’s Don
Bosco High School, the young Goan lad has the world at his feet and dreams to
achieve.
As he gears up to watch himself play alongside his own dad which is a great thing for any father to watch, with Lennon D’Silva – one of the top Goan lead guitarist, and legend of a musician – veteran Dennis Gonsalves, we wish Aerosmith, the best.
