𝘕𝘦𝘸𝘴 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦: 𝘎𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘰; 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘺: 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘰𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴
There may be several siblings rocking it out in Konkani
dramas and musicals. Among them, there are a handful of husband-and-wife duos.
From stage acting to singing to participation: each pair is different and individually brilliant - sometimes intimate, sometimes vibrant..!
Even though their performances are few and far between,
husband-wife collabs of Simon and Olinda Dias, based in Kuwait, are sure to
catch the eye of viewers.
The pair have been singing in Kuwait for quite some time. Both have featured in a number of shows and have a few videos as well.
Simon Dias is a professional photographer/designer hailing from Navelim while Olinda is from Panchwadi, Shiroda. Both are long-time singers of St. Joaquim & St. Anne Choir at the Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City.
The couple will be seen shining in the Konkani Online Musical set to PREMIERE on 17th July 2021.
The show entitled ‘𝗚𝗢𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗦’ will see some familiar Goan artistes based in Kuwait. The musical consists of a variety of songs and comedy.
𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙊𝙇𝙄𝙉𝘿𝘼
Born to Carolina and late Caetano, Olinda is the 5th child among 6 siblings. She studied at Guardian Angel High School, Sanvordem, and later graduated from PES College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, Ponda.
Olinda has been in Kuwait since the year 2000. She has worked as an Executive Secretary for Engineering firms like Bonyan Design & Stanley Consultant in the past, and is presently working for Gulf Consult as an Executive Secretary.
Right from a young age, Olinda is actively involved in youth activities; she was a member of St. Anthony Church Choir, Panchwadi.
𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙈𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙎 𝘼 𝘾𝙊𝙐𝙋𝙇𝙀
In Kuwait, the couple has performed for the church choir’s Annual Day Programs and videos, and was a choir member at the Gulf Unity Conference, Kuwait.
They have been regular performers at Goa Day Celebrations, Navelim Feast Celebrations in Kuwait and in various other shows that include:
- Mango Bonanza - Musical Concert organized by Kala Mogui Kuwait, 24th September 2015.
- Konkani Sanskrutik Sanz - organized by Konkani Somaz (Mangalore & Goa), 10th December 2015.
- Love You Goa - Mega Musical Concert organized by Kala Mogui Kuwait, 14th October 2016.
- Ugddass - Grand Musical Evening organized by Ramiro Mascarenhas at Ravindra Bhavan, Churchorem - Goa, 8th January 2017.
- Tumkach Lagon Ami - Musical Show organized by Shahu Almeida - 13th October 2017.
- Konkani Machiechi Seva - Musical Show organized by Shahu Almeida - 12th October 2018.
- Goencho Avaz - Musical Evening organized by Indian Arts & Culture Kuwait- 26th April 2019.
The pair also participated in Global Goencho Avaz 2020 organized by Chris Armand Presentation. Their song won the Best Music Award.
The twosome have their own YouTube Channel (Olinda-Simon) and it features 2 videos:
- Bhavart - produced by Olinda's Brother Agnelo Fernandes.
- Tum Ani Hanv - a cover song.
Recently, Simon-Olinda had the opportunity to feature in a tribute song called Ixttagoth produced by Baltazar Pontes.
Olinda thanks her husband for giving her the first break on his Audio CD ‘Kumsar’ and for always being supportive.

Music for the show is provided by Maestro Shahu Almeida (keyboards) & his band comprising of Lennon Blasco Dsilva (Lead & Rhythm), Dennis Gonsalves (Bass) and upcoming drummer-boy Aerosmith Almeida.
